01st January 2010 - New Years Day Walk
New Years Day walk at Thordon Park
Some of our members after our New Years Day walk 2010

New Years Day saw a number of our members getting together for what has become a regular event. In cold but beautifully sunny conditions we enjoyed a lovely walk in the huge grounds of Thorndon Park with super views accross the Essex countryside. If you'd like to join us, we'd love to have your company in 2011.

Sunday 21st March 2010 - Annual Club Dinner & Presentations
Please note the revised date! We're back at the Chichester in Wickford for our annual dinner and awards presentation evening. Voting papers have being distributed to our memebers to choose the top Working Newfoundland in our group. This year, for the first time, the top Show Newfoundland in our group will also receive an award.

Saturday 10th April 2010 - Sponsored Doggie Walk
We are taking part in this charity event raising funds for St. Luke's Hospice. The walk starts at 10 a.m. from Coal House Fort, East Tilbury, Essex and there are two courses to choose from, one of a mile and one of three miles. Fun prizes are being offered for the prettiest pooch, the best dressed houund and the best behaved dog - and everyone gets a free goodie bag too.

If you'd like to join us, you can call Ed Pearce at the hospice on 01268 524 973 or email him at ed@stlukeshospice.co.uk. The cost is £5.00 per dog entered if you pay before the end of March or £6.00 on the day.

This is not a Muddy Paws organised event but we will be supporting it. Everyone and their dogs, whether Muddy Paws members or not is welcome to come along and join in raising funds for this wonderful charity.

April 2010 - Training usually restarts after the winter break
Everyone can't wait to be back in the water and training, cold though it always is at the start of the season. We'll let everyone know the actual date nearer the time.

Sunday 23rd May 2010 - Southern Newfoundland Club Water Tests
We were pleased to again be hosts for official Water Tests of the Southern Newfoundland Club at Grangewaters. This will be our second time as hosts and we are hoping for a repeat of the wonderful day we enjoyed last year.

Sunday 22nd August 2010 - Newfoundland Club Water Tests
Water Tests for the Newfoundland Club are again being held at Grangewaters. These tests usually attract some of the top working Newfoundlands and handlers in the UK and we welcome visitors and those who would like to know more about the Newfoundland breed.

11th & 12th September 2010 - Essex Country Show
The Group are very happy to support this annual charity fund-raising event which is held at the Barleylands centre at Billericay. We're at the show for both the Saturday and Sunday with our dogs. In addition to providing information about the Newfoundland breed and giving show-goers a chance meet our dogs, we put on a display of water rescue work which we're pleased to say usually attracts a large crowd of spectators.

Information on the show can be found at the Essex Country Show website.
